Summary:flexing the character muscle.
okay, be forewarned, this is yet another story that started out as third person until it stalled. So I switched it to First person. I use the word "switched" loosely, as there are tense conflicts I simply cant see anymore. That's why I uploaded it for new eyes. :)
Thanks for the nits.Chapters: |

 | Fatboy | Rory Noel Hawk | Novel | Romance | 6 | n/a | Apr 13, 2012 |
Summary:Sabrina and Mason are on seemingly different paths in their lives. Their individual family issues have initiated a spontaneous road trip from each of their perspective homes.
It's along this cross-country adventure that they meet by chance and are inexplicably drawn to one another despite the reservations they have for opening themselves up to someone new. Both are desperate for a new beginning but it's through a few unusual brushes with Mason's past that they are confronted by their demons and discover just how much they need one another.
'Fatboy' takes readers on a journey beyond that of a serendipitous motorcycle ride. It's a journey through the turbulent minds of two people as they fall in love while trying to forge their own paths. Along the way, they discover that sometimes, becoming independent is only possible when you find the right person to depend on.Chapters: |

Summary:All feedback is welcome. Technical is desired as weak point.
This is a simple piece about 'feelings' I know! Overdone subject but alas.. they do follow us closely. This is a piece that took two minutes and to be honest have no idea where it came from. This is how I write. I cannot 'create' like so many of the talented writers on this site.
REVISITING THIS PIECE I SAW A LOT 'WRONG' WITH IT. Hopefully I have improved since first posting.. that is the feedback I would love to have. Improved? Not so self serving as not my intent. What I writer I feel is experienced by many.

Summary:'The Prodigal Housekeeper' is a light-hearted novel with all 17 chapters posted.
New readers are warmly invited to give it a try. After much help with each chapter from reviewers, I would now like to know how the book reads in its entirety.
A review from time to time, or at the end, will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Don

 | The Chilli is Not the Whole Curry: One Woman, One Prophecy, Two Countries, and Two Adoptions | Sarah in India | Novel | Memoir | 1 | n/a | Dec 17, 2011 |
Summary:My story is a novelistic yet factual account of my personal journey of moving to India with my husband. I am in search of adventure and motherhood, but as I struggle to find my feet in a foreign land, I also traverse a rocky path to parenthood. It is a fortuneteller’s prophecy of a “dark-skinned child” which proves my hardest test; my emotional battle with infertility in a developing country makes me contemplate my need for birth children. India’s poverty (her street children, orphans, and child labourers) influences me to question my priorities, and I follow a path of personal growth that is lined with uncertainty and fear. When my husband and I decide to adopt a child we face another set of hurdles. Our touching journey leads us to Cambodia where the clairvoyant’s prediction comes true. Chapters: |

Summary:Years ago taverns up our way served "short beer", a seven ounce serving of whatever was the cheapest draught, usually Utica Club, Genesee Cream Ale or Ballantine. When I attained legal drinking age a "short" cost a quarter. Last time I found a place that served one it was three times that price. This poem has been in one of my notebooks for a long time though in a much different form. Comments welcome.Chapters: |
 | Shadow Wolf: Remembrance | Natalee | Novel | Romance | 12 | n/a | Apr 23, 2011 |
Summary:SHADOW WOLF SERIES: Remembrance (Cameron&Sophia), The Three Kingdoms (Aedan&Kathleen-no longer Bianca), Cursed (Ian&Kirrah).
BOOK 1: Remembrance:
Sophia considers her life pretty much normal, that is until she befriends a gigantic wolf, who happens to push her down a waterfall. Technically, the fall wasn’t so bad and she would have forgiven her four legged friend, but when she emerges from the water, she finds herself several hundred years in the past, in Scotland of all places, abandoned by the wolf. Lucky for her, she is rescued by a handsome Scotsman, or so the arrogant lout says. Really, what’s wrong with the man? One minute he drives her mad with his kisses, the next he accuses her of being a witch.
Cameron’s nights are plagued by dreams of a spirit, begging him to remember something long forgotten, and his days are tormented by a lovely stranger, who very well could be a spy from the enemy clan. What is a laird to do? Keeping the lass will only anger his mistress and cause him great distraction at the time of war, but the thought of sending her away leaves him barren.
When Sophia saves his life, he learns that maybe there is more to life than empty passion and the sound of clashing steel.

Summary:The journey to God is merely the reawakening of the knowledge of where you are always, and what you are forever. It is a journey without distance to a goal that has never changed. - A Course in Miracles
The idea expressed in the above statement (which is also the main premise for A Course in Miracles) is something I find both fascinating and compelling. Hence, the poem.Chapters: |
